Sara Wolkowitz is a film and theater Director.
Sara is an independent filmmaker and theater director with a BA in film from Vassar College '05. She is the co-founder (and director) of an all-female production company, Indecent Exposure Productions, based in Brooklyn. Her film credits include Pretty Girl, produced for the 2008 South by Southwest Film Festival, and Chords, shown at numerous festivals including the 2008 Los Angeles Womens’ Film Festival and the 2008 Hawaii International Film Festival.  Sara also has a strong theater back­ground. She directed and co-created a one-woman show, Eleanor Is Sibling Challenged, performed at the Magnet Theater.

With Conflict of Interest Theater Company, Sara directed a new play for the Planet Connections Festival, War Crimes, for which she was nominated for “Outstanding Use of Projections, Special Effects, and/or Multi-Media Event.” As well as Brooklyn Labrinth at the BoCoCa Arts Festival. Most recently she directed The Ultimate Stimulus which had two sold-out shows at Dixon Place.

She directed and edited a webseries called "Diary Of A Chorus Girl", about a woman who made her broadway debut in Catch Me If You Can the new musical on Broadway. The series can be found at http://www.youtube.com/show/diaryofachorusgirl. She has also directed videos for non-profit organizations including LitWorld and NARAL Pro-Choice.

Her first feature documentary, Still on the Road, about America’s longest running touring theater company, The Acting Company, had it's theatrical premier at Lincoln Center on January 3rd, 2011. And premiered on WNET on Sunday, Februrary 3rd, at 1pm. It is currently airing nationally on PBS check out www.stillontheroadfilm.com for air dates.
